Licence fees
- A processing fee of Euro 2330 is to be paid to the Gaming Authority simultaneously with the submission of the application. This is a one-time-only fee and will not be refunded, irrespective of whether the licence is granted or not.
- If the licence is granted, a licence fee of Euro 6990 per annum is paid to the Gaming Authority. (After the expiry of the initial 5 year period, a renewal fee of Euro 1165 is payable for a further five year period).
- For the purposes of protecting player’s funds, the Authority may, for just cause, order, by means of a directive, that the licensee takes out a bank guarantee in favour of the Authority.
- The audit fees for the audit of the gaming system during the certification process is approximately Euro 2330.
Gaming tax
The gaming tax which a licensee must pay to the Gaming Authority on behalf of the government is differentiated according to the type of betting/gaming operation as follows:
Class 1 on all remote gaming (except betting and pool betting):
Euro 4660 during the first six months after issue of the licence and subsequently Euro 6990 per month for the entire duration of the licence period.
Class 1 under Class 4 on remote gaming operated by a Class 4 Remote Gaming licence:
The licensee who operates the hosting platform does not pay any tax for the first 6 months after issue of the licence and subsequently Euro 4660 per month for the entire duration of the licence period. Licensees operating from the hosting platform shall pay Euro 1165 per month.
Class 2:
(a) a sum equivalent to 0.5% on the gross amount of bets accepted in remote betting operations;
b) an amount of 0.5% on the sum of all net winnings calculated per player per betting market for betting exchanges;
(c) a sum equivalent to 0.5% on the aggregate of stakes paid on pool betting.
Class 3:
5% on real income.
However, the gaming tax is capped: The maximum gaming tax payable per annum by one licensee in respect of any one license shall not exceed Euro 465,900.
